Storage & Collection

Storing Buttercream cakes

Buttercream cakes is best consumed at room temperature. If it is eaten straight out from the fridge, it will be dry when it is just hard from being cold. For this reason, we suggest to take out the cake from the fridge about 1-1/2 hours to 2 hours before serving (knowing Melbourne weather). This will soften the buttercream and cake.

The cake should stay out in a cool spot away from kitchen, heat and sunlight before serving or for no longer than 2 days after the party.

Storing Fondant cakes

Fondant cakes should always be stored in room temperature, leave it out on the bench and not in the fridge, as this will ruin the cake. The fondant get condensation from the cold in the fridge and will become sticky and tacky after bringing it to room temperature. Hence, it is not recommended for fondant covered cakes to be placed in the fridge.

Leave fondant covered cakes in a cool spot in your house away from direct heat or sunlight.
